one other note from our military attache advised me that a U.S. car would call at my studio for me at 10.30—

I was up early as I had changed hotels the night before, and had to get some things together for the sitting.  I spent an hour or so before starting getting materials in perfect order so there would

be no time lost, even getting a complete scale of tones mixed on my palette, so I could drive ahead with the work with expedition.

At 10.30 the car came to the studio with a tipical [[typical]] bright "Dough boy" at the wheel, and we were off - I was pleased that the King had appointed his summer palace for the sitting, for several reasons, I feel that there would be less restraint & hurry there, and I was also desireous [[desirous]] of seeing this wonderful Palace, (the favorite residence of King Leopold) at close range - we drove along the confines of the estate quite a 
a time before coming to the entrance, such wonderful vistas of the wooded rolling grounds, ponds & meadows, they were cutting grass on the [[less?]] extensive fields, and it
