and placed on a table after we entered a medium sized antiroom [[anteroom]], next to the King's study. We were also accompanied by the chief of the service I would say! large imposing but genial in manner, not with a terror striking air!- he knocked at a door and in answer to a call inside [[strikethrough]] the he [[/strikethrough]] the Col. opened one half of the double doors, the attendant there swung back the other door, and with the Col. on one side & the attendant on the other, I entered and was greeted by his majesty simply & thoroughly with a cordial handshake as I was before.  of course said a nice thing or two about his graciousness in giving me more time, oh there was a (civilian with him, evidently a confidential secretary; [[strikethrough]] or [[?]] [[/strikethrough]])
