[ 7/4/19 ] 2 for 7000 miles - anyway - Wendell said he would help pay for the new ones - and said they alone made the car saleable— Well it ended in our getting them - and the difference in riding was amazing! The car hummed home like a Packard - and they boys kept exclaiming over the comfortable smooth action - then the tires look like real ones - not the hard spindly ones we had. This morning the boys washed the car - & she looks so spandy. They have driven down to Mr. Lebuttzs. Tomorrow is the 4th & we may all go on a picnic tea to Cold River— It is pretty hot today - and I hope it will be cooler tomorrow - so the young people can enjoy the day— How anxious I am to get your letters - & when you can say you are coming home - we will be rapturous— If you are detained much later than Sept. 1st I hope I can go to Marion - as she really needs me— I am sorry I did not go to her in the first place - instead of opening Hewnoaks - but you will go with her if you can come back early in the fall— People here are so funny about your mission abroad. A few - like the Farnhams Kimball & Tess
