May 23, 1918
My dear Henry--
Your fist letter from Vittel to hand dated May 19th but, post marked May 21st. so it has come very quickly.
I would like very much to come up to Paris + be with you those few days but, under the circumstances of my last letter -- I cannot leave Jesse here alone. It is too [underscore]great a risk. [/underscore] Have [?] Denny would move his school to Brittany. I do so hope you will be able to come up for a vacation in July as you say --
My pass expires May 31st but, I think I can have it renewed. I have not been to the bank yet, nor to the Notarie, as [Mr Rose?] all been so tired no one has done any thing but what has been only necessary --
