My dear Henry -

I added this morning a hasty P.S. to my letter of last night.  Yesterday afternoon, Alice & I were down on our knees weeding the Asparagus bed, Jesse was playing at some of his usual building etc., I thought he really aught to weed at least one row, as he is very fond of asparagus & eats more of it than Alice or myself.  I thought it was only right for him to help, he picked up a row, & said he would not, then I said you must go back to school & go back you do next Monday, he said I want to, I said all this before I saw your letter to him, after that he gave it to me to read.
