It always rains when they come. We thought they were coming yesterday; so it rained the day before - the first rain we have had since May. But yesterday morning we had a letter saying they could not come before Monday & at once the weather turned fine. It is beautiful today but it will rain tomorrow. 

I am sorry Jesse has developped [[developed]] hay fever. It is an unpleasant affair. I have had members of my family bothered with it but have never had it myself. I know from them, however, how disagreeable it is & no one seems to be able to do anything about it except wait till it is over.
 
We are jogging along in the usual way. It is pretty quiet without Lucy.
