Dear Emma and Children,
I just came down from the Line today, have finished my work and am now waiting for a car to take me up to my Foyer again, everything is going on fine, we have been doing great work at my place. Wish I could tell you just what and where, but later you will know. Am writing at our Headquarters now Epernay. Quite a dead town. Not a sign of the war. Civil life going on as ever. But where I am stationed it is the real work. Must go now will write again in a day or two from my post.
Lots of love and kisses, Solon
