Then Monday I opened up a Foyer in a very much destroyed building on the Ave. de Paris and Epernay. My soldiers were oredered [[ordered]] to their regiments ? then I ? fun. Working night and day giving chocolate to the soldiers just form the line in very bad condition as far as hunger goes. Today I made 2,000 cups of chocolate and gave them out. (Mydonkeys [[My donkeys]] had to go with my soldiers) So I had to carry on my bike chocolate, sugar and ca canned milk from the main foyer six miles from here.
I am writing this in a hurry because the tired soldiers are calling me all the time. I keep every thing hot night and day ?? I don't care whether they pay or not. A very nice captain who stopped for the day nearby sent me a soldier for the day so I am happy to sit down for a few minutes. I make the chocolate in two 30 liter cans at a time in a well shot up fireplace. No doors to the place. Piles of dirt every place. Just a path for me to walk in from the fireplace to the box I serve on. Then, we must have very small light. Anyway there was none so I gave a soldier all the chocolate he could drink for a piece of a candle if we cannot see to make change, I do not take the money. You are likely to get this letter a little late.
I do not know whether it is Thursday or Wednesday. All of my things are at Aperney. I ripped my pants twice so I look quite like a bum. A letter from Monica was sent to me here. I was so happy to hear of you all. A little will ??
 Lots of love and kisses,

Solon
