here to do Y work. I have been writing down about all my expenses in a book. You will get that when I come now that the front has been moved away from us. I think we will be ordered tomove when there is more movement. The Bosch have stopped shelling our town, they are surely pretty poor shots anyway this time. M. Blanc just came in with your letter, two, one from Monica and Paul. 16 of June. We are five....2 of July No. 4. I was simply delighted we have a pile to do but it seems as though it is a year since I had a letter from you. Very happy everything is going on so well and that August and Lucy are with you. This gives me great joy. Franken had asked me about some papers I had to sign but I told him I knew nothing of them at that time I did not . Very It seems to be that you, Emma, are trying to do too much with your lessons, suppose you get sick I do hope you will be reasonable as you always say I should be. Paul I was delighted to read your letter, it reminds me of the letters I used to write him. I used to think of lots to say but when I started to write I would forget it. It is fine you have the machine under the shed and the garden is in good shape. Tell Peter that I think of him often and I will find some Bosch souveneer over here. I have not started to get anything yet, there are plenty of things but there will be time later. I have a small piece of shell that dropped near our hotel in Paris. while I was there and censored off the map.
So your boat leaks, well make a new one when you have time, everyone has a pack on their back, their gun and all soldiers are passing through all the time, great auto trucks and ambulances come back at night (most of them) with many of the we serve coffee in the morning. Monica there are no little girls around here like you around here that I can talk to, they have all been sent away, very few little boys. Some dogs to pet, I think I saw some cats but mostly it was dogs in my dreams. I am writing now in one of our large rooms filled with French soldiers who have a few hours rest before they start on the road to the front some of them will not walk back. They all are writing letters or playing games, something like checkers - so you have got a fine stable now and you are going to board horses , well be sure you do better business than I do . You will have to get a pair of overalls so you will not soil your dresses and look out for your big toe, I mean the sore one. Remember me to George Paul/Lucy and and August . I am so very happy to know they are with you. Lots of love to you all Solon
