Dear Emma & Children 

This morning two letters (of yours.) was brought to me by my Director Mr Ingersoll. This is the first time he has visited my foyer, only there were three to show him, in three different vilages, a Mr Smith came with him Smith is the man who took my foyer at Raions they are both very fine men. They had writen me a letter of congratulation for my Croix de Guerre but I had neve [[never]] received it, there specil [[special]] visit often a ride of 200 keolemeters was very fine of them to make. Mr Ingersoll is leaving for home in about three weeks. he is a Sawyer and lives in Brooklyn when he arrives home his wife will write to you & have you visit theme [[them]] you could go to N.Y. and stay with some friends over night and
