Dear Emma and Kids,
The work is going on fine at the school now. I had thirteen pupils but yesterday sent four away to Boan where the larger school is there, there is more room there for painting then in the Architectural and Painting rooms about fifty were sent, they were all beginners. We are trying to keep this school for the best men by the end of next week we shall have a lot more coming in for we will select the best from those. Then men are having wonderful chance. Every thing is furnished them in all the departments. They begin to work the day they arrive. We have things well arranged in this way where is not a moment lost in work, sight-seeing, and lectures.

I received a letter from Elisabeth. They have come back from Strasbourg and I am to dine with them Tuesday evening. Elisabeth is quite taken up with the marriage of Paul Banzet. She tells me that you are not getting my letters. This is very strange. I write twice a week and am sure you see I am more careful with my writing now. Have been thunting all over to find out the correct way to s pell Conn but cannot. So id you ill spell it out will put it on my letters every time. Just as soon as the money market is a little better will send you some. You can send my letters directly to me then I do not need to go to Paris often, have been on the go so ling that I just hate to leave my studio. Have been very well here and am getting very fat now. Lots of love and kisses, I pray that you are always wel and happy every day Solon
