Dear Emma & children
To day the 30 of june am sent on quick movement orders to Brest. I had made arrangements to go to Granoble [[Grenoble]] before leaving which was last friday, and now I cannot go every one recived ordrs, to get read[[ready]] to leave at the school so I got my things ready. and am leaving for Brest to night. tried to see
Franker yesterday but he was with Ian[[?]] + Sophie so this sudden order compelled me to leave without seeing eny one. I had planed a week for this visiting
we were ordered to brest [[Brest]]

Transcription Notes:
The part I transcribed as "Ian + Sophie" looks like it could also be 'Tant' Sophie? I am unsure what this word before Sophie is.
