My dear girl,
   This is early Wednesday morning on train. just getting day light. I have had quite a tired trip, but have washed and fixed up now and am all ready to get off.
   When I return home I will go by way of Cincinnati to Washington. and beleave I should stop over for a few hours and try and see Mr Protasio[[??]]. 
   My excuse will alright for droping in on him and I will try and see other members of the committee. 
   I see that it has been in the N.Y. papers about my fathers death. I hope that the exhibition will be a grate success with our[out] me. You must all try and make it so people who want to know where I am need only know that I am [[strikethrough]in Washing[[/strikethrough]] on my
