Then in Pinar del Rio we have apparently a still more primitive culture, practically Eolithic in character, but whether they were of Arawak or other relationship we have no means of knowing.  The interesting point of the whole question is that all three cultures seem to have been living as contemporaries at the time of the [[strikethrough]] [[?]] [[/strikethrough]] Discovery.

Comparison of our Cuban collection with collections from other regions shows first of all , no resemblance worth mentioning to Yucatan; a slight resemblance to Florida; and a very strong resemblance, almost an identity, with Haiti, Puerto Rico and the Bahamas.  This resemblance can be traced down through the Lesser Antilles to Guiana, althoug h after leaving Puerto Rico the Carib style of pottery, differing somewhat from the Arawak is found.
