14 An examiner [[strikethrough]] for teachers [[/strikethrough]] is of teachers in Educational Department New York. Joseph K Van Den Berg 500 Park Ave descended from Coxsackie Van Den Bergs Sept last came here to look up his genealogy and [[for?]] where his ancestors lived , They [[send??]] that all to me and I [[rush??]] them around. He looked at the early part of my manuscript & said send it to MacMillan 5th Ave-- When a little child I brought the first strawberries to my grandmother- a widow since she was young. She said did you eat any yourself, I said no- She said- You are like your grandfather gave every thing away and went with his pockets empty but it does not matter much. It is just as well-, I have done a pile of work on my manuscript and for the 1st time in my life if it could be done - leave a royalty in a book to my daughter. She did not want to go to college - But she is preparing to be self supporting. I am president of the Library here- spend my evening at a meeting of the trustees. Too tired to take pains and make this legible. Please send me pamphlet on Stone Age - was there more than the one here - [[strikethrough]] As a child - [[/strikethrough]] Respectfully, AW van Slyke Coxsackie
