Mr. Mark R. Harrington,
Heye Foundation,
Broadway at 155th St.,
New York, N.Y.

Dear Sir:

I have been asked to get together some of the salient facts concerning your distinguished father, Professor Mark Waldo Harrington. Some of them I already knew, of course, and some others I readily found, but not all. For instance I have not been able to find a record of the date of his marriage, nor where his wife (your mother) was from. Furthermore, I have been unable to find anything at all about his ancestors, when they came this country, nationality, or other items of interest.

Will you not therefore kindly give me some information on these points. I am sorry thus to trouble you, but I do not know how else to obtain the desired knowledge.

Thanking you for any trouble you may take in the matter, I am,

Yours truly,
W.J. Humphreys
