Know all men by these presents that I Richard Davis of Howard County State of Maryland held and firmly bound to the United States of America in the sum of two hundred ($200) dollars for the payment of which I bind myself my heirs, executors and administrators firmly by these presents in this contract.  That I am to furnish the person whose name is subjoined (free laborer) quarters, full, substantial and healthy rations, and all necessary attendance and supplies in case of sickness and the amount set opposite his name per month during the continuation of this contract, [[strikethrough]](one year [[/strikethrough]] three months.
