Sept 27th 1865

Know all men by these presents that I, R. S. Rodgers of Hartford County State of Maryland, held and firmly bound to the United States of America in the sum of (200$.) two Hundred Dollars, for the payment of which I bind myself my Heirs Executors and administrators firmly by these presents in this Contract. That I am to furnish the persons whose names are quarter. Board. And all necessary attendance and supplies in case of sickness and the amount set opposite their respective names per month, monthly. Less (25) twenty five per cent, which amount is to be retained by said Employer until the termination of the term of service. then to be paid in full to said below mentioned Employees. This Contract to be broken only by mutual consent.
