Oct. 17th 1865

Know all men by these presents that I William H. Anderson of Annarundall County state of Maryland held and firmly bound to the United States of America in the sum of two hundred Dollars ($200) for the payment of which I bind myself my heirs, executors and administrators firmly by these presents in this contract. that I am to furnish the person whose name is subjoined (free laborer) quarters. full and substantial and healthy rations, and all necessary attendance and supplies in case of sickness and the amount set opposite his name per month, monthly. less twenty five (25) per cent which amount is to be retained until the termination of this contract. then to be paid in full. This contract to be broken only by mutual consent.

Moses Archer age 18 yrs. time to the 1st of October 1866, rate per month 
from the 17th of Oct 1865 to March 1st 1866 $8.00 from the 1st of March 1866 to the 1st of Oct. 1866 $10.00
