Personally appeared before
justice of the Peace in and for said county, T. G. Reddy and made oath that on or about the 15th day of Feby 1864, he accompanied Mrs. S. C. Mellen to the office of Col. A. K. Johnson  Comdg Post of Natchez, and there saw the oath prescribed by the proclamation of Pres't Lincoln of December, 1863, administered to the said Mrs. Mellen by the adjutant of said Col. Johnson - that a copy of the said oath after being duly subscribed by her and properly certified to was handed to said Mrs. Mellen, that about the same time an order for the return whereof a two-story brick house and lot, on Pearl between Main & Franklin streets, in the city of Natchez was issued to her by said Col. Johnson- that deponent saw and read the said order- that he also saw & read the order of the rental agent restoring to her the said property, said order being issued about the same time as the order of Col. Johnson aforesaid
Deponent further made oath that on or about the 12th of July, 1864, he accompanied said Mrs. Mellen to the office of Brig. Genl
