Since that he reports that more of his time is necessary to the proper care of the sick, and asks that his compensation be increased which request I suppose to be just but nothing definite has been done.

At Landerdale Springs we found a quantity of hospital property that had been surrendered to the Government by the Confederate states. General Canby had ordered it turned over to the Med. Purveyor at Mobile. By representing the matter to General Oelerhans we obtained an order for the property and it is now being used in our hospital at Meridian.

At Columbus and Macon we found need of medical officers but were unable to supply them.
