Sept. 22

Dearest Mom & Uncle,

Very happy to receive your letter. I was worried because I hadn't really heard from you. Thought you were grounded in Honolulu or Japan by the typhoon. Received your postcards though. So sorry to hear about the furniture. You better put away every thing in case another typhoon comes along. How is [[?]] [[?]]? Give her my love. Poor thing, she's gone through a lot. Is she still to thin? How is grandpa? Please give him my love. I'll be writing to him today.

As for me, I'm doing quite well. The girls are very nice & we really get along. The assignments are moderate & I've been able to follow. I have a lot of free time- much [[strike through better]] more than in high school. This afternoon, I am going up to Brookland for some odds & ends. Last week, I went shopping but didn't find anything. I saw some car-coats, like the one at Orhback's, which are around $30. So I might go downtown this Friday & get one. The stores here are nothing compared to ones in N.Y.C. By the way, I watched Doctors yesterday. I think Mat & Nora didn't get married. Something happened but I don't know what. I shall catch it tomorrow.
