Dearest Mother and Uncle George,
So nice to hear of the grand time you are having upon your return, your friends all must have missed you terribly. But we miss you too, the children speak of you very often & ask when you'll be back. We still have people, strangers, who mention that they saw your picture in the paper.
Just had a notice of arrival from the ship 2 days ago, I phoned the dock but the cases are still aboard ship, It seems that they require us to appear in person to clear with customs and to pick them up in Jersey City, New Jersey. We can't wait for a free day to do this soon enough, we are so anxious to see them. We know they'll be beautiful as your taste is impeccable. Thank you a million, we never expected them so soon!
I am terribly busy these days having started several projects, among them making drapes for the living & dining [[crossed-out]]chairs[[/crossed-out]] rooms knitting a third mohair sweater, doing 6 unpainted kitchen chairs and making 2 long evening dresses. The dresses are for next month, Opera Guild Dance & Med. Society Dinner Dance, haven't even pick out the fabrics yet, wonder if I would ever finish them in time. How I wish we had made that white & gold dress in full length. I don't suppose you have an old one that you can fly to me right away. Actually the pattern I have in mind is very simple, the 2 piece type that Mrs. Kennedy wore so much, should be nothing to make.
