Dearest Mom & Uncle,
I'm very sorry for not writing sooner but due to the fact that I had a lot of tests, I just could not find time. Please excuse me. Right now, I'm writing to you after lights-out. I borrowed a flashlight from Irene and am [[strikethrough]] very [[/strikethrough]] in a awkward position. I don't dare turn on the room light because the nun is still walking around.
I did not get a chance you call up you folks on New Year's. Besides, I figured it would be just as bad as Christmas. So to avoid being disappointed, I just didn't call.
Raymond arrived here [[strikethrough]] safely [[/strikethrough]] on the 1st. He checked in at the St. Francis. I met him at the airport that afternoon. During, or rather before his arrival, I stayed with Dean so that day, he drove me down to San Francisco Greyhound bus depot and then I took a bus to the airport. That night we went to see a movie & had dinner in Chinatown to celebrate New Year's.
Then Dean came for me at the restaurant Dean and Ernie spent New Years day with their sister in Frisco. The next day, I went back to school with Aunt Mary. Your package was waiting for me. Thank you so very much mom. The sweaters are beautiful. I also received two sweaters (Twin set) from Aunt Sally. I haven't send her a thank you note yet because I can't seem to find time to write so would you please thank her for me first? I shall write myself very soon. Now, back to Ray. On Thurs, he moved down to a motel in Belmont. That was a really modern one & pretty pond too. He came up to see me also on Friday. We went to the City on Sat,
