Miss Lee Ya Ching
15 West 67th Street
New York, N. Y.

Dear Miss Lee:

I have already seen Miss Eileen du Pont on the subject of a collective or "clan" approach to the du Pont family for aid to Esteemed Grandparents. Miss du Pont is closely in touch with the various branches of her family, was much interested, and when I saw her on Wednesday, November 26, planned to see Mr. "Chic" Laird who is a "young du Pont" interested in philanthropic projects and influential with the circle of relatives.

Miss Eileen's idea was to ask Mr. Laird to take on the project of Esteemed Grandparents and do the actual organizing necessary. Mrs. B. G. du Pont and Mrs. Mollie Downs were both interested but could do nothing and felt that the family was now decentralized. Miss Eileen agrees but feels in many ways it is still very much a clan, and as such could be very readily interested in Chinese children.

Miss du Pont lives just back of Mr. Lammot du Pont's at the end of Rising Sun Lane, near Wilmington.

Sincerely,
Marion G. Canby
