CHINESE STUDENTS' CHRISTIAN ASSOCIATION IN NORTH AMERICA

March 31, 1938

Dear Mr. Chen:

Your letter of last December came to us with your several copies of the Pacific Digest. We certainly enjoyed very much the fine work that you have been doing. Hearty thanks to Madame Chiang for her keen interest in letting the folks abroad know China's aspirations in her national defence against Japan since the war started last July. We have found that our American friends are very much interested in the Far Eastern situation, with special sympathy to China's cause.

In two weeks we will be able to send the latest copy of the 1938 Directory of Chinese Students in America. We found an increase of 176 students more than we had last years, as we have a total number of 2,338 this year. Many students are interested in all kinds of engineering; 502 in all branch of this study.

You will notice in our Bulletin, the Chinese Christian Student, that we have mentioned your publication. If there is any chance that some of the friend would like to subscribe to your Digest, we will refer them to you. you folks are certainly doing a marvelous work in this defense project. In such a way not only the over-seas Chinese but also all the people in the world are acquainted with the heroic stand on behalf of China.

Our students in America are helping in every way possible to give talks and speeches to different churches, groups, women's clubs, etc., and at the same time to encourage our friends to contribute money for the civilian war relief. Last November we have also published a special pamphlet, "China Faces Japan" which has had a wide circulation through the United States and other parts of the world.

Please confer our heartiest appreciation to Madame Chiang regarding her compliments of your publication.

Yours sincerely,
