November 2, 1938

Miss Eithel Holmstock,
China Aid Council,
Los Angeles, Calif.

Dear Miss Holmstock:-

In answer to your letter of October 29 and supplementing mine of October 27, I am really happy to know that you think my presence at your November 19 meeting might be helpful to your organisation. My present trip to the States is purely on my own resources but with appropriate sponsorship; and it is my earnest hope that I will be able to accomplish something for my country in her hour of greatest need.

I hope to be in Los Angeles a couple days before November 19 - I will advise you further of the exact date of my arrival after my local plans have been carried out.

As to speech making, I must confess I am not much of an adept at it, but never-the-less I will have a short message of about 5-10 minutes to convey to your meeting.

For the cause in which you so kindly enlisted yourselves and which is very much in line with my mission, I will leave in your able hands whatever publicity you see fit to put on.

My reassurance that I am ready to cooperate with you to the limit.

Very sincerely yours,

FH
