Dear Ya Ching:

I have received both your wire and your recent letter of January 13th regarding your imminent trip to the East with Miss Cochron. All your friends here extend to you the best of luck, so that when your mission is completed China will benefit immensely by your efforts.

As requested I have written to Mr. C. H. Wang, co-manager of the Bank of China, New York, appealing to him for whatever assistance he is in a position to offer you preliminary to your arrival in New York, and during your stay there. I am sure Mr. Wang and also his wife, who has a large circle of American friends in the East will be able to do a great deal for you. I am also writing to Consul General James Yu regarding your trip. I am enclosing copies of their letters.

I am very much interested in the book you are now writing in connection with aviation development in China. I should be glad to help in proof reading it.

Lillian came out of the sanitarium just for the holidays, and we have been having a very happy reunion. Whether she needs to go back at all depends on the result of a check-up she will have to undergo in a few days. In the meantime, Lillian and I both wish you all the luck in the world.

Sincerely yours,
K.L.

[[bottom margin]] Emily Fong just called me up and told me you are leaving Saturday Jan. 21. Such being the case, I am readdressing this letter, c/o Chinese Consulate-General, New York. Visconsul-general [[Vice-consul-general]] James Yu is an old colleague of mine, a mighty able and good fellow -- and I think still a bachelor. Can I offer my services? Please keep me constantly informed as to your progress. You know my feelings toward you - too attractive to be engaged in work of this kind. So try not to have people attracted to your person but rather to your successes.
