Hotel Ritz, Paris
June 7, 1972

Dear T.,

Your letter of Monday, June 5th, calls for congratulations, for not only were all my questions answered as regards people and prices, but also by the same mail I received the pamphlet on the niello cross. This is all the more remarkable as these were delivered this morning, a day when we are supposed to have a general strike. Now I hope to receive shortly the documentation on the Giordano painting.

Enclosed is a copy of a letter addressed to Herbert Bier which is destined to Porjes, who, I hope, is by now at his desk, though I have not heard from him yet.

Also enclosed is a note for Mrs. Cooney.

I am glad to read also that the landlord broke down after your plea and will allow you thus to lock the elevator doors from the inside.

I am still suffering badly form my bronchitis and my bad cold, but with the distressingly bad weather we have, cold and rain, I am not otherwise surprised that it should linger on.
