The operation took place yesterday, and in the afternoon I spoke to Mrs. Porjes, but he was still "upstairs". We phoned again this morning but were told his phone is disconnected. Anyway we conveyed your message to his wife.

This morning we have a letter from them, signed "Liz" (Mrs. E. E. Gardner) as per the enclosed photostat. Copy of the acknowledgement is also enclosed. Mrs. Cooney cannot find any PIAZETTA photograph which would seem to be the one in question; either in the Piazetta file or in the de Groot file.
