July 13, 1972 Dear Mr. Seligman; Dr. Frederick J. Cummings of Detroit came in this morning as arranged, accompanied by another gentleman, Mr. Ronald Winokur, to see the MILLET. They asked if Mr. Duffy had reserved it, and I said that I did not think so. They asked the price, which I gave as $18,000. Dr. Cummings wanted to know if Mr. Duffy had a copy of the pamphlet; I said that we would mail one to Dr. Cummings if possible. The letter that accompanied the duplicate pamphlet is attached herewith. * Mr. Cummings read your letter, and said that he agreed that portraiture was a fascinating aspect of MILLET's talent. He also expressed regret at not seeing you. Both Dr. Cummings and his companion seemed to be impressed with the painting. Their visit lasted only about twenty minutes. As you requested, Madame Carrive's address is: Madame Jean Carrive La Girarde St. Quentin de Caplong 33 Ste.-Foy-La-Grande Gironde, FRANCE We telephoned Mrs. Parker today, but there was little to report, other then the visit of Dr. Cummings. Johnson has put the MILLET back in the Reserve. I hope you had a good flight in spite of the weather, and that you will enjoy your vacation. Sincerely, Julia Halpern * on Mrs. Parker's advice, I said nothing about returning the pamphlet
