As to my slighting Prof. Bandelier recently, I cannot imagine where this gentleman has gotten that impression, for I have always regarded him as one of the finest men I ever knew, and have prided myself upon his acquaintance. However, in order to obviate such conditions in the future, I will so conduct proceedings that they may not give offence. I have discarded the publication of Prof. Bandelier, and shall let the matter permanently drop.
I am, with the best wished and kindest regards,
Very cordially yours,
