This is now, though only 23 months old, the largest archaeological society in America---perhaps in the world. It is also the most active. It has already a large nucleus for the great museum it will build in this city for the Southwest---the personal relics of Fremont, the Pathfinder, priceless collection of historic paintings from the old Missions, of California archaeology, and of other valuable relics are already owned by it, besides more than $100,000 worth of material already pledged. All the historic relics of the old Missions of Southern California have just been pledged to this museum. These alone will make a collection which has no peer in the United States. The Society has also recorded, for the first time, and is preparing to publish, over 600 old folk-songs of California and the Southwest. The work of the Society is in things which must be done now or never. The 2 illustrated bulletins, showing what has already been done will be sent free on application.

Annual dues are $10; life membership $100. The Society year ends Nov. 30th; but dues received before that date will cover membership to Nov. 30th, 1906.

For the Executive Committee,
Sincerely Yours,
