My dear Dr. Bauer:-

Since receiving your last communication I have made inquiries in the museum and have ascertained that there is a possibility of arranging matters as you have suggested, that is in relation to the ethnological material from the Mazatecas.  

Now that there is a chance of arranging matters in this way I wish that you would send me a list of the material that you have from this region with prices for same.  As soon as the list is received I will confer with the museum authorities and see whether the specimens can be used in the ethnological department.  If we can arrange to have you send a representative collection there would be, as you say, no serious difficulty in packing the old material with it; it will be particularly simple owing to the fact that all of the pieces are of a utilitarian form, none of them having elaborate decorations or painted designs.  

I was sorry to learn of the trouble that you have had in an endeavor to forward the material to me and I hope that this new phase of the situation may prove to be the one that we have been looking for.
