AMERICAN ASSOCIATION FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF SCIENCE.
L.O. HOWARD,
PERMANENT SECRETARY WASHINGTON, D.C.

November 24, 1905.

Dear Mr.Pepper:
I have your letter and am very glad that you are going to work on the meeting. Cattell, who has always been interested in Section H, agrees with me fully, and while not a breach of faith, it seems to be most discourteous for the Anthropological Association to hold a meeting this winter, in opposition to the American Association at a place like Ithaca. I think the loyal members of the Association should go to New Orleans instead of to Ithaca in order to emphasize their desire for harmonious relations and closer affiliation on the part of the Anthropological Association. I am just writing to Dr.Hough. Will you please write him also and insist on his holding to his bargain with the Association -- only don't express it that way:
Sincerely yours,
L.O. Howard

Dr. Geo. H. Pepper,
Am. Mus. Nat. History,
New York City.

I am unsure what the writing says for sure on the bottom right.
