but, on the other hand, there are equal chances of delay. You fully realize the uncertainty of placing such collections in a Museum where new material from other regions may make a drain on the ready money. These conditions should always be considered in negotiations of this nature.

If you feel that you could dispose of the specimens in some other quarted, should we be unable to make the purchase, you would then be justified in going to the field for this purpose.

Do not feel that I am any the less sanguine about the arrangement; I merely wanted you to understand the possibilities which might make a difference.
