Dear Mr Pepper: I have lookt [[looked]] over, with much interest, the joint paper by yourself + Mr Gilbert L Wilson on "A Hidatsa Shrine + the Beliefs Respecting It."
It is full of parallels with my own gatherings, both in ceremony + myth.
The Cheyennes + Arapahoes designate the Hidatsa by a name and sign which means "spreading tipis," ie wide at the base, frequently incorrectly rendered as "Row of Lodges."
With best wishes
James Mooney
