Famed Kitty Hawk Formally Presented to Smithsonian

Wright Brothers' Aircraft 'Comes Home'- This was the scene yesterday as the Wright brothers' famous plane, the Kitty Hawk, was formally presented to the Smithsonian Institution. The presentation was made in ceremonies at the National museum by Milton Wright of Dayton, a nephew of aviation's pioneers, on behalf of the Orville Wright estate. Behind the Kitty hawk hangs the Spirit of St. Louis.

A Father Takes His Drowned Children Home- The crowd watches silently as the father- with typical Oriental stoicism- marches of with his two dead children, one in each hand. The children were among the over 3,000 refugees drowned when a ship blew up and sank off Woosung breakwater.

Early Birds at Kitty Hawk Ceremony- Augustus Post, 75, treasurer of the Early Birds, pioneer aviation group, received a kiss from Mrs. Alys McKeybryant, 69, of this city, at the ceremonies formally presenting the Wright brothers' Kitty Hawk plane to the Smithsonian. Post made his first flight in 1910, and Mrs. McKeybryant in 1912.
