NEWS-the National Committee to Observe the 50TH ANNIVERSARY OF POWERED FLIGHT

PRESIDENT EISENHOWER TO GREET INTERNATIONAL AIR PIONEERS

Aviation pioneers from throughout the world, here to attend the International Air Pioneers dinner, will be received by President Eisenhower at the White House at 12:15 P.M. Wednesday, October 14, 1953.
Sponsored by the National Aeronautic Association as a part of this year's celebration of the 50th Anniversary of Powered Flight, the dinner will be held at the Mayflower Hotel in Washington at 8 P.M. Wednesday.
Pioneers attending the three-day program will come from Belgium, Brazil, Canada, France, Germany, Great Britain, Mexico, Portugal, The Netherlands and the United States.
Following the White House reception, a group of aircraft manufacturing companies will entertain the visitors at a luncheon at the Sheraton-Carlton Hotel at 1 P.M. Wednesday.
On Tuesday, October 13, the pioneers will make a flying pilgrimage to Kitty Hawk, North Carolina, the birthplace of aviation, where they will visit the site of the first flight by the Wright brothers in 1903. The Air Force Association, working with the Kill Devil Hill Society, is in charge of the pilgrimage arrangements.
On Thursday, October 15, they will be conducted on a tour of the National Air Museum at the Smithsonian Institution.
