TOWN TOPICS
 BY OLD TIMER
YESTERDAY
 * * * *
I SAW Ruth Law
 * * * *
STAND upright
 * * * *
ON TOP of an airplane
 * * * *
TWO thousand feet up
 * * * *
AND with arms extended
 * * * *
MAKE three or four
 * * * *
DIZZY loops in the air
 * * * *
AND each time as
 * * * *
THE machine righted itself
 * * * *
SHE stood there smiling
 * * * *
AND as safe
 * * * *
APPARENTLY
 * * * *
AS THOSE who watched
 * * * *
AND were thrilled
 * * * *
AS I was thrilled

FROM my seat in
 * * * *
THE grand stand.
 * * * *
AND after she returned
 * * * *
FROM other hair-raising
 * * * *
AERIAL exploits
 * * * *
I ASKED her
 * * * *
IF SHE felt frightened
 * * * *
STANDING there
 * * * *
ON THE narrow wing
AND the plane
 * * * *
SMASHING through space
 * * * *
OVER a hundred miles an hour
 * * * *
CAREENING and looping
 * * * *
AND she smiled:
 * * * *
"MY pilot knows
 * * * *
AND I have confidence
 * * * *
IN  HIM.
 * * * *
I NEVER think of myself
 * * * *
BUT only if my act
 * * * *
IS GETTING over
 * * * *
AND my audience is
 * * * *
GETTING their money's worth."
 * * * *
AND I thought
 * * * *
HERE is one who
 * * * *
TAKES her life
 * * * *
IN HER hands daily;
 * * * *
WHO flirts with death at all times,
 * * * *
AND whose only concern
 * * * *
IS THAT she is doing
 * * * *
HER job well
 * * * *
NO MATTER how dangerous
 * * * *
AND I feel like
 * * * *
TAKING my hat off
 * * * *
TO RUTH LAW
 * * * *
I THANK you

Transcription Notes:
I am not sure if I was supposed to place the letter in the middle of the phrases like depicted, so I just placed it at the end. Also the first half of the second set of words were cut off so they were mostly good guesses.
