Fri. 1932 Yesterday was the most beautiful day; today was the awfullest one. Now I'm finally convinced that happiness (which I had been enjoying for one week) cannot last any too long. A sad event must end it, always. I won't try to describe the accident. It was too awful. And besides, how can I ever forget all the details? happen. I won't mar the happy school year with this calamity. Nearly lost my Pearl K in it. It had to happen on the last day! The fence, Elsie Yuen's grin, rain, glass, screams, mud, serge pants, lost flashlight, insurance, oil truck!

19 The last day - 19th last minute autographs - class day program - station KHS. farewell song - boo hoo! last handshakes - Bachman "Make the most of it!" and so the curtain falls!
