Fri 1932. I am so mad I feel like killing all those damn Chinks who are indigents. Every month at this time, I'm so unhappy + miserable on account of these 22 bills. Can't write much.

When I read plus signs for and, do I write the plus sign or just write 'and'? Also, do I need to indicate that a word is underlined? In one example, there's an indication that a word is underlined, but in the instructions it says to not indicate it, so I'm not sure about that.
