DECEMBER 24 Sat 19 What a nite! Herb & I were supposed to go carolling with the Hi-Y, but went to the talkies — "Night Beat," fair, & Buck Jones, bunk! Then we joined Harold at Wakai's program & there learned that many girls had also been in the singing group, & that H had lost his tie - L had taken it. We walked to the Mormon Hall where the LDS conference was having a big dance. Then we journeyed to All Saints, for the midnite service, only to learn that it was far too early. We rode to the YMBA hall where Herb & I played a swift game of ping pong. Back to the church, in time for the services. Home at 1 o'clock. DECEMBER 25 Sun 19 We had a beautiful Xmas tree. This morn the kids woke up real early. The half wit of the family had to spoil it all by wrapping up old shoes & placing them at the tree. But today, what a glorious time we had - Al Lun and I [[strikethrough]] go [[/strikethrough]] went with Harry to the home at Anahola - Poi, opiki, squid, chicken, pig, all kinds of rare things! I spent the rest of the day at [[strikethrough]] his [[/strikethrough]] Harry's place at Anahola, & returned at 6 in the night.
