cannot paint pure landscapes forever.
The fair: Van Gogh, Gauguin, Cezanne, Monet - these are good.
El Greco - Rembrandt and many others.
And the century's Americans - Mattson Kennington - great - but nothing in the show was much different from what I had expected.
These Americans may not be immortally great, but they are the ones who matter today. There is much that is mediocre but as a whole the show is pretty satisfying.
