This seems to be the thought!  That a place revisited is place no more (Keakaha); that a place well known to many (Waipio) loses its grandeur; that discovery of place gives me new life:

 "Forever must man seek the solitudes [[cross out]] desolation [[/cross out]] and the most utter desolation of the wilderness to achieve through hardship the rebirth of his pride."
