Sir:

I have the honor to request that transportation be furnished Jno Dudley and twenty seven (28) others, destitute Freedmen, from Meridian Miss, to Nebletts Landing Miss, by [[blank]].

This transportation is necessary to prevent suffering and to secure employment for the Freedman, thus relieving the Government of their support.
