The freedmen's schools were made the subject of a severe attack by the Rev Mr. Bester, a Minister of the Baptist persuasion, in a lecture delivered before a highly respectable audience in the Presbyterian Church in this city - on the evening of Nov 18th Southern ladies and gentlemen were, in the opinion of this Divine, the only persons capable or fitted to instruct the African.
