Harbor the violet-green cormorants are common but shy.

Saw a number of Passerculus sandwichensis and one M. insignis Also a single ♂ mallard in a small fresh water pool which with a single Bald Eagle were the only birds I identified. The chief of the island then tells me that the Ravens already have young and that the Titlarks which are common here, have eggs now.

A few cormorants, Pigeon guillemots (U. columba)and ducks come into the harbor every day also several species of the Alcidae which are not yet identified. The gulls which are numerous at the point beyond Dutch Harbor made a great outcry [[strikethrough]] yes [[/strikethrough]] while I was in the vicinity of the bluffs and will probably soon have eggs.
