Climbed up to the hawks nest before mentioned.  But could not get to it as the only means of reaching it is by a shelf about six inches wide.    Shouted and at last had to throw stones to the nest to drive the bird off - when I fired and she fell nearly to the ground then sailed off to a low hill about 500 yard away when she fell but upon my making search she was not to be found.  I returned to the village with the determination to secure the eggs by some means but a storm coming up it was postponed.

May 24 - Visited the hawks nest with source rope & two companions with the intention of lowering myself down to the nest but the sight of the cliff caused them to retire without
