Cloudy disagreeable day snowing lightly all the P.M. Temperature up to 38 in the afternoon. About 11 A.M. we were arguably surprised to see a solitary goose flying by from the North East. It was Branta hutchinsii and the first of the migratory to appear this year. In the afternoon a single goose was seen returning on the course taken by the one in the morning and was probably the same bird.The arrival of this goose was very unexpected as not a pond is open and the tundra is covered with
